Cycling in the Ardennes
Besides beautiful walks, the Ardennes are also great for cycling. It might be a bit more difficult than in Flanders or the Netherlands because of the differences in altitude, but it is also very satisfying when you climb a hill and are able to enjoy a beautiful view!
If you like cycling yourself, you should come to the Ardennes during the weekend of 22-23 April. You can take part in several bike rides but you can also go and watch the professionals. The organisers of Liège-Bastogne-Liège bring this cycling race past La Roche-en-Ardenne every year, so this year they will be visiting again on the 23rd of April.

Evening bike ride in Libramont
We have already talked here about a night walk, discovering wildlife during the night and seeing what life is like. But a bike ride during the night is something else. In Libramont, they liked it and so they came up with the idea of organising a bike ride in the later hours. VTT Séviscourt is a group that prefers to enjoy their region from a mountain bike. You are welcome on Friday the 21st of April from 18:00 and you can choose from three different distances (35, 25 and 15 kilometres). Not to worry for the walkers, you were also thought of with a choice of two distances ( 5 and 10 kilometres).
Sunday cycling day
Sunday is not only Liège-Bastogne-Liège day, in Arville they also feel like cycling. You can take part in the “Rando des Lumçons d’Arville”, which means as much as “Tour of the snails of Arville”. Again, there is a choice of cycling or walking. The cycling tours have a length of 15, 30, 45 or 55 kilometres, the hiking tours have a length of 5 or 10 kilometres. Departure is scheduled on Sunday the 23rd of April between 7.30am and 10.30am.
Carnival Nassogne
This is one of the last Carnivals in the region, this time they welcome you in Nassogne. Nassogne is a commune located between our hostel “La Laiterie” and Rochefort. You can easily go there by car, in 20 minutes you are already in the centre of Nassogne. Apart from being a very nice region to be in, you can enjoy Carnival there the whole weekend. The festivities start on Friday the 21st of April, 8pm and end on Sunday with a free ball. There is also a fairground all weekend!
